Raptors waive Antonio Davis (AP)

The Toronto Raptors waived Antonio Davis on Thursday, effectively ending a season in which the center was suspended for five games for climbing into the stands after his wife got into a confrontation with a fan in Chicago. Davis missed the past 12 games after injuring his back in the third quarter of a game against Miami on Feb.

Garnett had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who were routed by Toronto 97-77 on Friday night. Minnesota has dropped nine of 11 and is 28-41 on the season. "This is probably a test more than anything for everybody, to see who is going to give up and who is going to pack it up and go...

The best game of his NBA career couldn't save a lousy day for Charlie Villanueva. Villanueva scored a career-high 48 points, but the Milwaukee Bucks got 35 points from Michael Redd to beat the Toronto Raptors 125-116 in overtime Sunday. That came less than an hour after Connecticut, Villanueva's college team, was upset by George Mason in the NCAA tournament.

Dwyane Wade played so well that he earned a kiss from Pat Riley. Wade scored 16 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter, and the Miami Heat overcame the absence of injured Shaquille O'Neal to beat the Toronto Raptors 98-94 on Wednesday night. O'Neal missed the game because of a hyperextended left knee, but Wade rallied Miami from a 16-point deficit.
